  • GASP Program Training:In August 2025, AWARD trained 37 participants in a 5-day workshop aimed at strengthening institutional capacity in gender-responsive policy development and implementation within the agrifood systems space. The workshop explored foundational gender concepts, institutional assessments, the GAPo tool, SWOT analysis, the RBET framework, and participatory gender analysis methods. The workshop brought together participants from Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Mali, and Togo. They were from a wide range of institutions working in public policy, gender justice, advocacy, and development, including the Permanent Secretariat of NGOs (SPONG) of Burkina Faso; the Association of Ingenious Entrepreneurs of Africa (ASENIA); the Federation of Networks of Women's Associations of Cameroon (FERAFCAM); the Network for the Support of Cameroonian Products and Entrepreneurs (RAPEC); the Ministry of Environment, Nature Protection and Sustainable Development (MINEPDED); the Ministry of Promotion of Women and Family (MINPROFF); the Ministry of Livestock, Fisheries and Animal Industries (MINEPIA); and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MINADER) of Cameroon. Also represented are the National Coordination of Farmer Organizations of Mali (CNOP), the National Federation of Rural Women (FENAFER), and the Ministry of Agriculture, Village Hydraulics and Rural Development of Mali; as well as the Network of Young Agroecological Producers of Togo (REJEPPAT) and the Togolese Coordination of Farmers' Organizations and Agricultural Producers (CTOP) of Togo.
